Gumshoe Noir is the brainchild of contralto Olivia Harding and multi-instrumentalist Jonathan Tucker. One fateful day, Jon asked Olivia to join him in exploring the concept of “Noir,” chasing the crime-filled, fatalistic notion through various decades and genres.
Working long-distance between Kansas City and New York City, they wrote their eponymous first album. Their music aims to find the glamor in the grit, the playfulness in the cynicism, and the hope in the darkness that defines “Noir”.
Their sound transcends genres, combining flavors of jazz, synth-pop, metal, rock, and electronica. Jon’s electric and acoustic guitar, bass, and synth and Olivia’s dynamic, warm vocals are woven into an electronic soundscape that brings to mind unsolved crimes, near-death experiences, and a suspense.
